Into the Garden Collection
When we first started to plan this collection, it started with a custom color. A hue I’ve been personally craving. You already know I love greys, blacks, and navy – my rebellious side that always wants to dress in darker hues. But I also love color and wanted to find a union of the two. After many tries, going back and forth with our dye house, we landed on our new color Purple Ash. This color is a soft grey with a hint of purple and it’s surprisingly feminine without losing the masculine touch. It’s exactly what I wanted to create. I imagined this color being paired with the usual blacks, greys and navy, but also wanted to imagine a more unique pairing with our new tan color – Chestnut Brown which is the perfect compliment. From there we added a pop of color, called Orchid, that called in a stronger sense of summer. And for those of you who’ve been with us for a while, yes this is the same Orchid we did last year. We heard you and decided to bring her back since so many of you asked! And finally we layered in Balsam, a deep blueish green that rounded the whole collection out. Colors meant to balance the feminine and masculine and to call us all “Into the Garden”.
To me, the garden is the safe space that we all hold within ourselves to be our truest, most authentic person. A space that allows us to dream, to try on new facets of ourselves; to heal, to grow, to be supported, to be tended to. And if you read my other blog, I’ve been tending to myself behind the scenes. Understanding what it is that I truly want from this life. And I feel like the blooms are starting to show themselves and clarity is here. This is a moment of rediscovering myself and living this life for me, not for the opinions or concerns of others.
I hope this collection is a reminder to you, to take time to go “Into the Garden” and find the things that bring you joy. To find the parts of you that you love and become everything you have ever imagined for yourself . . .”to our becoming”
Sending you love and light, Allison
The Completion: A Beautiful Life Collection, Part 2
This collection is meant to be a continuation — a completion (if you will) of the Beautiful Life Collection. As a small brand, we don't always have the budget to bring the fullest collection I envision to life all at once. So we sometimes have to break it up into parts.
And honestly? I've come to see that as a gift.
This collection was the start of a renewal process for me — of learning how to live intentionally and take ownership of the life I want to create. Full of color and vibrancy, of trying new things and letting go of old wounds. From the very beginning of dreaming this collection (which for us was back in January and February) to bringing it to fruition in March and May — I have grown so much through the process. It almost feels like years instead of months.
So now, as we launch this second part, it's like I see it with fresher eyes. The same colors as before seem brighter and more vibrant. The same styles have taken on new meaning — for me and for this brand. To grow, to expand, and to bring this healing to more women.
I truly believe that “Fashion can be transformative with the right fit.” It's always been my purpose, and it has moved deeper into my mind and heart through this process. I've arrived at what I like to call a place of "full body belief" — where both your heart and your mind are aligned. Where I can finally move past my insecurities, past the societal and cultural expectations of what it means to be a humble woman, and stand firm in this belief. In my purpose.
Even the small things like allowing myself to be the photographer for this collection — something that previously felt uncomfortable because I wasn't "formally trained." It has become it’s own quiet act of courage. Letting myself be creative in new ways, without needing permission.
So thank you for being here on this journey with me. The hope is that we can all collectively stand in our light a little more and give ourselves the opportunity to shine brightly and live fully. This life is ours to live vibrantly and joyfully and my hope is that you have A Beautiful Life that you (and I) are proud of!

The real reason we do sales — and why this one is different.
Something happened to me at the market the other week that I haven't stopped thinking about. A woman tapped me on the shoulder, and before I even turned around, she said — "I just have to tell you, I still wear my Allison Izu pieces I bought at Nordstrom. I think that was… 10, 15 years ago?" We talked story a little more and she thanked me for making clothes that she loves to wear, even after all these years. I was so overwhelmed with joy and grateful that she shared her story with me.
That's exactly why we do what we do — to make clothing that you’ll love to wear, but also to give you the highest quality item at the best possible price. It's something I actually take for granted as a consumer — I expect every brand to offer the best quality at the best price. And sadly, I’ve come to understand that it's not a value that's shared by a lot.
Which is exactly what makes our Friends + Family sale so meaningful to me. This isn't just a "make room for new inventory" moment — though that's part of it too. This one is a straight-up thank you. To you, for being here, for wearing the clothes, for stopping me at the market or sending the team and I messages and emails with your stories and photos of where you wear each piece and how long you’ve had them. We love hearing how you got your sister to try something new and the compliments your husband gaves to you while wearing Allison Izu.
I get it . . . I’m a bargain hunter at heart, always have been. And I want you to feel that win too — snagging pieces you truly love, made from quality fabrics, manufactured right here in the USA. I want you to feel like you got the deal of the season, because you did.
Sales like this next one also help us to re-invest back into the brand, to bring your favorites like Hannah, Dayna, Miki and Sunrise, in new colors. But to also have the space and room to create new styles and designs, like Ava, South St. and Aidan. Our collections need to be planned and paid for five to six months before it ever arrives in our hands, so we need to be way ahead of the calendar. And as a small brand, still trying to figure it all out - we need as much support as possible. That’s what a sale like this does for us — so we can keep bringing you pieces worth keeping for, oh, fifteen years or so.
More details coming soon.
with love + light, Allison

The Beautiful Life Collection
Spring is such a beautiful time of year. Everywhere we look there are signs of renewal — new growth, new possibilities, and little reminders that we’re always allowed to begin again. And for me, spring has become a season of becoming.
Over the past several months, I’ve been going through a quiet process of letting go of the things that no longer serve me and allowing myself to move toward a more authentic and honest version of who I am. As I step into my last year in my forties, I decided to welcome that challenge with open arms.
This collection reflects that journey.
It represents a part of myself that I wanted to bring forward — a more playful, vibrant side that I don’t always show. I wanted to “try on” a different version of myself for a moment and see how it felt.
We’re calling it The Beautiful Life Collection — or La Belle Vie — and it’s about the pieces that support you in living the life you deserve. A collection of styles designed and selected together for the person you are today, and the person you are becoming.
In a very literal sense, this collection was also a personal challenge for me. Many of you have been asking for brighter colors for years and as someone who always gravitates toward blacks, greys, and neutrals, creating this palette meant stepping outside of my comfort zone and allowing color to open up a new expression of myself.
The result feels both joyful and elegant.
There’s a beautiful Paris Blue, reminiscent of the soft French cornflowers you might see scattered across the countryside — vibrant, but still subtle and refined.
We added a playful pop with Tulip Pink, inspired by fields of blooming tulips in Provence. It’s a color that feels feminine, bright, and full of life — the kind of color that instantly lifts your mood.
Then there’s a deep Raspberry, rich and sweet, bringing a sense of warmth and boldness to the collection. It pairs beautifully with Buttercream, a soft, creamy neutral that feels like slow mornings and gentle moments — the kind where you pause long enough to truly savor life.
Together, these colors feel like different flavors of a beautiful life — each one awakening the senses and welcoming in the newness of spring.
While designing this collection, I kept imagining travel to faraway places. There’s something magical that happens when we step into a new destination. When we travel somewhere unfamiliar, we often allow ourselves to become slightly different versions of who we are — because no one knows us there. We dress a little differently. We try new foods. We live more boldly and freely.
This collection is an invitation to experience that same feeling — even without leaving home.
To give yourself permission to explore new parts of who you are.
To try something different. To embrace color. To move through the world with a little more curiosity and joy.
At Allison Izu, our brand has always been more than just clothing. It’s about creating pieces that support women as they move through life — pieces that help you feel comfortable, confident, and connected to yourself.
Because the truth is, we all deserve a life that feels vibrant and full.
A life where we can accept ourselves fully. A life where we feel empowered to grow. A life where we feel connected to the people and experiences around us.
And most of all, a life where we allow ourselves to receive the sweetness that it has to offer.
That is the spirit behind The Beautiful Life Collection. Join us on this journey, Wednesday 3/18/26.

Galloping Into February: The Story Behind Our Collection
You could say I’m a little obsessed with astrology, horoscopes, and anything that helps explain the unexplainable. I’m a Sagittarius after all — which means I love spirituality and trying new things (not necessarily in that order).
As Lunar New Year started creeping closer, I wanted it to feel meaningful — not just personally, but for the business too. I found myself thinking about what I wanted to shed in the Year of the Snake, so I could move more freely into the Year of the Horse. And maybe — just maybe — I took that idea a little too literally when planning our February collection.
Putting a collection together takes months. When we realized our February drop would land right around Lunar New Year, I felt this urge to move quickly, to “gallop” ahead, without fully stopping to ask whether it was the right time to do so.
A few months ago, I probably bit off more than I could chew. I made a list of everything I felt was missing from my closet and decided… let’s launch all of it in February. And now, as we’re prepping emails, social posts, and content — in the shortest month of the year — it’s definitely making our heads spin.
With so many new things to talk about, all at once – we don’t know where to start or what to share with you first.
But as Lunar New Year approaches, the clarity of the Year of the Horse is finally coming into view. Clarity around what’s been holding me back. What I’ve been afraid of. And what I’m ready to let go of as I head into 2026.
This clarity also mirrors my personal journey as I move into menopause — a phase that’s been about putting myself first in a way I never really did before. I’m entering this new year focused on finding what lights me up, what brings me joy, and what helps me feel fully like myself — leaving behind a long era of people-pleasing and comparison.
Which brings me back to this collection. No apologies — just clarity. And this got the team and I excited.
When I thought about what my closet was missing a few months ago, I wanted it all. You may have already met the Harley Jacket — a design I’ve been quietly obsessed with for over a year, and I’m so happy it’s finally here.
Then there’s Cooke and Coral — our double knit pants that work for, well… everything. Work, weekends, and all the moments in between. We found a new fabric vendor, and this is our smoothest, stretchiest double knit yet — so bringing them back felt like a non-negotiable.
With the rest of the February collection launching soon, we’ll be bringing back the Bobbi Top. If you’ve been with us for years, you know how special she is. A collared shirt made in our Soft Ponte fabric that gives you structure and softness. It’s the perfect layering piece and I have a feeling it’s about to become your favorite collared shirt because it’s so soft and comfy.
And how could I launch a new jacket and button down shirt without the perfect layers to go underneath. That meant bringing back the Kelly Tank — a super comfortable, flattering racerback. And introducing our newest top, Aidan! A slightly more fitted cap-sleeve top for anyone who prefers not to go sleeveless. Both are amazing layered under Bobbi, our Remy Cover Up, or the Harley Jacket.
So yes — maybe we galloped ahead before everything felt perfectly clear. But honestly? That feels true to my Sagittarius spirit and this season of choosing joy and curiosity over perfection.
I’m excited about this collection — and right now, that feels like enough.

The January Collection: Finding the True You
What is it about the New Year? Forcing us to change, and somehow find the new me?
This year, I'm taking a different approach and focusing on finding the TRUE ME —releasing the things that hold me back from being my most true and authentic self.
When it came to this January collection, that intention became very clear. This season is about focusing on what we do well, and making an investment into ourselves and you. What does that mean exactly? I’m not totally sure. But when I spoke it into existence, it just felt right.
As the designer and owner, I want to help people (and myself) find more and more of themselves. That feeling when a place or a person—or even a piece of clothing—just feels good. Like, wait a second… have we met before? Why does this feel familiar? That’s how I want you to feel in our designs.
What Comfort Really Means to Me
For me, it always starts with good design. We spend hundreds of hours on design, pattern-making, sewing samples, fit sessions, edits—and wearing the pieces day in and day out—to make sure the fit is as comfortable as we can possibly make it. Then comes fabric: soft, stretchy, comforting. We search for fabrics that'll make us feel good all day long so you never have to worry about changing.
Designing Through Body Changes
As a woman who is going through menopause… comfort is key. Soft, breathable fabrics matter. Stretch matters. Because some days it feels like I’ve gained ten pounds overnight (and yes—it’s all in my midsection, why?!).
From there, my obsession with quality goes into overdrive. We’ve tried, as a brand, to take our manufacturing overseas—to bring costs down and pass those savings on to you—but I just couldn’t do it. Every time we tried, the fabric wasn’t right, and it didn’t feel right.
I’m not saying overseas manufacturing can’t be a great solution one day. But right now, we’re too small to manage it in a way that ensures the quality and care we’re committed to. So for now, we’re keeping our manufacturing in California—close to home, just an airplane ride away so I can check quality and visit our factories and vendors.
Education & Connection: Where We’re Growing
Another big focus for me this year is education and connection. This is where we can really soar—and where I believe true understanding and power come from.
So this January, we’re going back to our basics—and going deeper into color education.
I know you’ve probably heard of seasonal color theory, but for me, the best test is simple: look in the mirror and ask yourself, Do I like it?
I’m naturally drawn to muted tones, darker colors, black and grey (LOL!). But this year is about exploring more sides of my true self. And honestly, it’s not that I don’t like color—I just haven’t always had the time to create the right ones.
This collection is about carefully choosing some of our favorite colors—many from past collections—to show just how versatile your closet already is. We want to teach you how to mix and match what you love, try new combinations, add new colors, and feel supported as you do.
New Styles, Familiar Ease
Maybe it’s trying a new style like our Jana Top—inspired by our customer-favorite Hannah, but updated with a softly draped cowl neckline that takes you easily from work to dinner.
Or maybe it’s exploring a new color like Wisteria—a muted purple that pairs beautifully with Bordeaux, Black, or Navy.
We also brought back the Scarlett Top—a style that’s a little outside my usual oversized-comfort zone. It’s an alternative to the fitted bodysuits the "young ones" are wearing, but designed to accommodate my own very unique body shape.
One Step at a Time
I guess this is the long way of saying… bear with us.
We have so many ideas for this year, but as a small team, we’re committed to taking things one step at a time—so we can do them well.
Our first step is helping you find the colors and styles that support you at every stage of life. And on the days you feel blah, we want to be there for you.
Let us know how we can best support you—on your fashion journey and beyond. We’re here with you, every step of the way.

Meet the Brooklyn Pant – The One That Does It All
The Brooklyn Pant is one of my personal favorites because it was born out of a style need I felt was missing in my closet. I wanted a more structured pant that could easily dress up any outfit without losing the comfort of a jogger. For those days when I needed a “boss lady” outfit, Brooklyn was created to be soft, stretchy, and polished, all at once.
Prior to the Brooklyn being added to our lineup, we had a nice range of bottoms. Joggers (Sunrise), wide-leg pants (Milo), and a tapered-leg style (Miki) that became staples in our community. But I still craved a style that felt more structured than the Sunrise, more sculpted than the Miki, and more dressed up than the Milo—while still being effortless enough for everyday wear. And, that’s how Brooklyn was born.
We designed these pants to give your shape a little sculpting–without the squeeze of shape wear. The Brooklyn Pant offers you soft support, instead of rigid structure. It holds you gently, never too tightly. And compared to styles like the Miki or Milo, Brooklyn has a slightly thicker, more sculpted fabric. That means a cleaner silhouette, more refined fit, and the ability to design a slimming shape that still feels easy to wear.
Whenever we’re designing a new pant, the team and I always ask ourselves: will this pant flatter short proportions? Will it help us look and feel our best? We’ve found that it’s the small details that make our pants unique and what keeps our customers coming back for more. And if you’re wondering how we do that, we spend hours developing these details until they work for a variety of body types and sizes.
We invest in making multiple samples for each fit model for each stage of the design’s development. Sometimes we end up with multiple versions of the same style, each with a different adjustment to make sure we get it right. This is where a lot of companies cut costs—they take short cuts and minimize the time and money spent in this development phase.
One of the key details we focus on is the crotch design—we make sure there's enough space and shaping so you feel truly comfortable. Most brands don’t do this because it’s more expensive to produce. Using extra fabric and tailoring takes more effort, but it creates a fit you usually only find in high-end designer clothing. We believe you deserve that same level of comfort and quality, without the luxury price tag.
As a designer, I think we deserve these details that add the extra level of comfort that can take an outfit from being okay to amazing. We deserve it at an affordable price point like ours.
For the Brooklyn Pant, these are some of the details that we included:
Elongating princess seams that run down the front of the leg to visually lengthen shorter frames (no heels necessary!).
Angled side pockets that slim the hip line with no bulk.
A mid-to-high rise waistband with super soft elastic–so it stays put without digging in.
A deeper front rise that gently skims and supports the lower belly (aka the FUPA zone), providing ease for real bodies at every stage.
And of course, the perfect 24” inseam for women 5’6” and under – no hemming needed.
Brooklyn took over a year to develop. We went through multiple fabric tests, moved factories, and we adjusted so many parts until it felt just right. Every stitch is purposeful. This pant is for the days you want to feel like you’ve got it together. For the women who want to step into their power and still feel like they can move, eat, breath, and live.
If you’ve tried our other pants and loved the comfort, Brooklyn takes it a step further. It gives you a sleeker shape, a more tailored look, and that just-right balance between structure and softness.
