You know that feeling when you see something in your mind's eye and you just have to have it? It could be a flavor that you want to replicate, or a feeling that you are trying to evoke? That's what I felt when creating this collection. I wanted to create simple basic outfits that could become building blocks for your life. And once I saw it in my head, I couldn't let it go.
It’s the reason why we built this collection the way we did . . . basic colors that allow you to focus on building the foundation and silhouettes that support that. I love a good monochromatic look so my intention was to create looks off of 2 base pants – the new Rowan Pant (coming soon!) and our best-selling jogger, the Sunrise.
The few outfits I saw in my mind's eye . . .
The Matching Set: A basic top like Hannah or Ava in Dark Charcoal, with a matching Sunrise . . . the simplest outfit that when paired together looked like a romper or a super elevated sweat set that’s perfect for travel days, dressed up with a blazer and boots, or comfy for your most leisurely of lounge days.
The “No fail” Look: One of my all-time “no fail” looks is a classic white and black pairing. This could be either the Sunrise or the Rowan (or any other black pant in your closet) with a crisp off-white shirt like the Ava or Callie. We chose Sand because I love a good, sophisticated off-white. As we move out of summer and into fall, I don't know why I crave this more elevated off-white color, maybe it's because it feels easy? That’s how dressing should be!
The Cult Favorite Re-Born: If you’ve been with us a while, you might remember our Becca Top. It had a cult following, but we had to make the hard decision to stop making it when factories kept having issues and costs got too high. We went back to the design table and worked on creating something that took inspo from our current viral top, the Hannah, and sprinkled in everything we love about Becca. It took us a while to honor the original, but after months of design and fit sessions - I think we got it right. And the original “Becca Club President” Ashley approved! And when we decided on using our Rum color, I knew I needed it in a wide leg pant. As much as I love the Milo Pant, I wanted to spice it up and make a dressier wide leg pant. So we put our design heads together and came up with the Rowan Pant. We added the most perfectly shaped pin tuck in the front of the pants that makes it dressy and refined. We lengthened this pant a couple of inches to make it full length – perfect for fall days, wearing it over boots and pairing it with a matching top in Rum, like Callie or Ava. Rowan is still being manufactured, so we’ll let you know as soon as she’s ready for purchase.
My brain is running multiple options for looks with these colors . . . black with sand, charcoal with rum, rum with black, sand with sand . . . It's endless. And that’s what I wanted to create for you – endless options of great elevated basics that’ll become your foundational pieces for years to come.
