This print was something that spoke to me before I even knew why . . . it's always been one of my favorite prints that we've created. A simple and understated branch of a culturally celebrated tree — the Sakura. And while most people celebrate the tree in full bloom, it was a moment for me to see it in its simplicity . . . in the moment that most would consider it dormant.
It reminds me that even through our dormant phases in life, when we retreat, when we hibernate — there is beauty and growth happening within . . . For me, those are the moments I sometimes have the most growth happen, even if it's not visible from the outside. And the timing of this print couldn't be more perfect . . . so many changes are being made within myself, the business and brand — that isn't seen on the outside. From moving our factory to California, creating new partnerships, moving our warehouse to Utah and creating the solid foundation to build upon. It has shifted the way I see myself and what we do here.
This print represents all of that and I'm grateful the timing worked where we could launch it for our 18th Alliversary. The print itself is asymmetrical, which means no two tops will be alike — unique in its placement and variation of the branches. We chose two color combinations, one a more intense blue called Celestial Branches, and the other a muted green called Sage Branches. Both colors have deep meaning to me . . . Sage is the herb that provides cleansing and grounding, and the Celestial nature provides us with the opposite — expansion into the unknown.
Both energies are needed on all of our journeys forward. We paired the print with fresh colors that have a sense of effervescence . . . a light yellow called Sunbeam, a flowing color called Pacific Blue, and a more rooted color called Blush. We also made more styles in Rum and Dark Charcoal to carry us through the fall season.
So many things are coming through with this collection that we hope you stay with us for the full journey and celebration of Alliversary into October. We'll be sharing stories about each piece and giving them their moment in the spotlight. Last week we shared our new pant, the Rowan, along with our crowd favorite the Sunrise Jogger. Coming up next will be our best-selling Hannah Top and new super star Rebecca. It'll be the first time since we launched Hannah that we're offering her in a print! We also brought back my personal favorite — the Ava Top — and the Callie Top will be getting more colors, since many of you have also started "collecting" this style as well lol. So many outfit pairings are dancing in my head — I can't wait to share them with you!
