Infinite Bloom Collection

Infinite Bloom Collection

It’s always been a challenge to know what to design for a new collection launch because it happens months in advance. We have to plan enough time for designs to be selected, fabric to be sourced and bought, and get all of this into our manufacturer’s hands before they can make any physical products. And there’s no way to predict what the future will look like when the collection actually comes out.

So when I sat down to conceptualize this July's summer collection, I leaned into what this season means to me — crisp colors that are both subtle and joyful. I wanted a new short sleeve style for the warm weather, cause I'm a t-shirt kind of girl. And I wanted to give a twist to the "basic white tee," something I love dressing up. So when we were looking at color swatches, Petal Pink caught my eye right away — it's the perfect subtle (but joyful) stand-in for my summer white tee. The team and I decided to do it in our slightly thicker, soft ponte fabric, because coverage in light colors is important, and the rayon fibers keep it breathable.

Adding to this subtle and breezy summer palette, I wanted more of the Matcha Latte color - a subtle green with warmer undertones, that I think looks great on different skin tones.  And then we pulled in familiar pop colors like Orchid (everyone’s been loving this color) and Purple Ash (our custom color). And many of you have been asking for warmer pop colors, so we went with Coral Bloom, a beautiful orange tone. Available only in the Hannah Top.

I'm also really excited to finally get to share our brand new style, the Callie Top! It's a redesign of the Hannah Top (our best-selling, viral top). This summer season has been exceptionally hot, and Callie is the perfect style with shorter, wider sleeves that let the cool breeze in. It has the same oversized body as the Hannah that we all love.

But if the heat is really getting to you, then my #1 recommendation would be the Ava Top. The shorter cap sleeve is so comfortable and we were intentional in how we designed the back of the sleeve so it covers the upper arm area. The v-neck is also a great feature, offering nice coverage while being super flattering. And I have to say, as I move through perimenopause, I need tops that give my neck some airflow — the Ava Top does this while still making me feel super put together and stylish!

At Allison Izu, our designs are intentional — we think about covering those "softer" parts of your arms, and work to create a flattering silhouette that makes you feel confident in your skin. And from my own experience of "infinitely blooming" and evolving as a human being, I'm able to use my personal perspective to create styles that keep you feeling cool, confident, and comfortable through the summer season. Quality and craftsmanship are also top of my priority list too, so you can feel assured these styles will last year to year, as you continue to live your most vibrant and joyful life!
