The Becca Top Gets a Second Chance.
For the longest time, I only wore one style from Allison Izu. It was the Becca Top. She was my "safe" style—the one that covered all the parts of my body I didn't want to show and paired easily with leggings (the only bottoms I felt truly comfortable in at the time).
Allison designed Becca with so much thoughtfulness that she carried me through every season of life, every stage of my body, and every weight fluctuation. I never had to worry if she was going to fit—she always did. And to this day, she's a part of my weekly rotation. On days when I'm busy, not sure what to wear, or just need something I can rely on, I reach for my Becca Top.
The sleeves never dug in, the body floats away from your midsection without making you look bigger, and the curved hem covered your front and back so you never had to worry about panty lines or your FUPA showing. Becca didn't just cover—she supported me, and that's why she never left my closet.
So when we had to say goodbye to her, it was hard.
Becca had a lot of details in her that made her feel special—specific seams and finishes that took real time and materials to sew. And as much as we loved her, the cost of making her right had gotten to a point where we couldn't keep her in the lineup. We discontinued her, and I'm not going to pretend that didn't sting a little.
But Allison and Megumi didn't let it go. They went back to the drawing board, asking the question: after everything we've learned about our own manufacturing over the years, is there a way to build Becca again—without losing what made her Becca?
I got to be the fit model through most of that process, which meant I tried on each new revision, edit after edit, figuring out what parts of Becca made her so special. And what came out the other side is Rebecca.
She has the same floaty body that never clings, the same sleeves that don't dig in, the same curved hem that solves the panty-line problem. But she's built smarter—refined in the details that used to take so much extra time and material to sew, without touching the parts that made Becca who she was.
She's not a new top trying to win me over. She's the one I already loved, designed in a way we can actually keep making. And I could not be more excited to have her back in rotation.

Sizing Note: For reference on fit: I'm 5'3" and wear a size XL or 14-16 in other brands. In Allison Izu tops, I wear a L-XL. Rebecca has the same sizing and Becca so I recommend getting in the same size.
Pricing Note: Rebecca costs a little more than Becca used to. That's not because of anything we changed in her—it's the same story as everywhere else right now, with fabric, labor, and shipping all creeping up. The good news is that the redesign actually made her cheaper to construct than the original, so we didn't have to pass along the full increase on top of that.
