Allison built this brand almost 20 years ago on a simple realization: the industry designs for a 5'8" fit model, and if you're on the shorter side like she is, nothing was ever made with you in mind.

Twenty years in, she found another gap. Bodies don't just come in heights — they change with time. After kids. Into her 40s and 50s. Our bodies naturally change with time.

Standard sizing doesn't account for that. So women blame themselves — thinking they need to lose weight, or size up, or hide.

At Allison Izu, the goal isn't to make you look different. It's to make you comfortable enough to stop thinking about your clothes at all — so you can just live.

Meet Our Fit Models

Allison Izu (Song)

Founder and designer, Allison is 49 years old with two teenage kids. Her body changed after child birth and again as she heads into menopause. She uses her own experiences to design styles that work for our ever evolving body.

Ashley

As our brand manager, Ashley understands all of our customers concerns. And as someone who has struggle her whole life finding clothing that fit her body, she is the advocate in the room. Pushing to make sure every style is thinking about our different shapes and body types.

Lani, Our Model Form

We padded a typical model form using Allison's body measurements to ensure we end up with flattering designs every time. She reminds us to take into consideration all of the "problem areas" customers mention to us.

Jerri

Jerri is Allison's mom — and one of her most important fit references. Allison has watched her mom's body change over the years and used that understanding to design styles that work for women at every age and stage.

Lani is our fit form — and unlike the industry-standard sample size, she represents a real body. Every silhouette is designed to her proportions, because clothes should reflect how they actually live on a person. But looking good on the form isn't enough. Each piece gets worn through a full day of real movement before it's approved. If it doesn't feel as good at the end of the day as it did at the start, it goes back.
