Lightweight Knit
Our Signature Rayon Jersey
95% Rayon, 5% Spandex
Our classic and lightest fabric offers a "barely there" feel, which keeps you cool and comfortable.
We use a blend of Rayon and Spandex in our Lightweight Knit (Rayon Jersey). This blend combines the cooling nature of Rayon, with the stretch and bounce-back of Spandex. Our fibers are longer in length and the yarn is twisted at a higher rate to help prevent pilling issues commonly found in Rayon blends.
FAQs
To preserve its quality, wash rayon jersey gently in cold water and air or flat dry. Our rayon/spandex blend minimizes shrinkage, ensuring lasting fit and comfort.
Rayon Jersey is a soft, flexible, and breathable fabric that is often used for short clothing such as t-shirts, dresses, and skirts. It's made from rayon also known as viscose, a plant-based material that is similar to cotton in many ways.
Our signature lightweight knit creates the most dimension and drape of our fabrics. Dont let the word “lightweight” fool you - this fabric has a nice weight to it, which allows the fabric to create the dimension and drape that the designer intended. The combination of highlights and shadows adds interest, while also de-emphasizing certain curves of the body.
The higher spandex count (up to 8%) gives this fabric a slight sheen as well, and a durability that most jersey knits wont have. (most jersey is a 98% rayon and 2% spandex). Of this blend the spandex is the most durable and when we blend more spandex into the knit - it creates a dressier, weightier, and more durable blend. Which means, less pilling, higher density and bounce back (no more over stretched sleeves or hem), and wrinkles fall away easily because of the weight and spandex count.
But the thing that we can really translate is the softness. We start with a higher twist yarn with longer fibers, which creates a smoother and stronger fabric. Think of a higher thread count in sheets, its just like that - which makes is silkier and smoother to the touch. And it minimizes the pilling too!
