Ashley's Go-To Layers
Pack With Me
Every trip I take, I make it my mission to pack smarter. Each outfit has to be comfy, versatile, and my layering pieces have to work for multiple outfits.
Here are 3 layering pieces I've been packing with me lately – and how you can recreate them with pieces from Allison Izu.

Look #1: Airport Layers
What I wore: A lightweight bomber jacket to keep warm on the plane and to dress up any basic tee outfit.
How to Get the Look: Swap in our Joan Cover Up – it gives the same effortless vibe with a petite-friendly fit.
Why It Works: The shorter length on both styles keeps proportions in check (Rule of Thirds) and elongates the leg. It's perfect for layering over tanks and tees without the bulk.
Style Tip: Layer the Joan over our Emi Top and joggers for that easy, on-the-go look that works from airport to your destination.
Bonus: it folds up small in your carry-on.

What I wore: A denim shirt as a lightweight layer over a graphic tee and joggers – comfy enough for long days at Disneyland and cute enough for all of the photo ops.
How to Get the Look: Try our Loren Kimono for the same, easy relaxed feel. It's breathable, has the right amount of movement, and easily layers over casual looks.
Why It Works: It elevates any look, keeps you feeling comfortable, and looks good with sneakers at the parks or sandals at dinner.
Style Tip: Add a crossbody bag and comfy kicks for the perfect sightseeing outfit. Then change to sandals and you're ready for a night out!

What I wore: A long coat layered over a comfy sweater – it kept me warm and was perfect for evening walks through the city and sightseeing.
How to Get the Look: Pair our Gabby Sweatshirt with the Rachel Coat for cold weather layering. The Gabby is extra soft and designed to not add bulk to your look. And the Rachel Coat brings the extra layer of warmth without overwhelming your frame.
Why It Works: It’s all about layering without looking weighed down. Both pieces are designed with shorter proportions in mind — so you get that layered look without looking twice your size.
Style Tip: Add boots or a sleek sneaker based on where you’re headed. And if it’s extra cold, add a scarf to complete the look!
I hope these outfit ideas inspire you to think differently about what you back for your next trip!
Wherever you’re heading next — Japan, a weekend getaway, or just a day of errands — I hope these looks help you feel more confident about how to layer (and pack!) with ease. You don’t need to settle for pieces that kinda work. You deserve to feel stylish, comfortable, and seen — especially while you're out in the world. The outfits I shared are made with shorter proportions in mind, are mid-size friendly (I'm 5'3" & size 14-16), because you deserve to enjoy life now, not 10 lbs lighter.
